Funded Ph.D. Research Assistantships in Neuromechanics—University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, USA
The Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering (ISE) at the University of Florida (UF), Florida, USA, is looking for highly motivated individuals to pursue doctoral degrees in Industrial Engineering with a concentration in Computational Biomechanics, Neuroengineering, and Brain Modeling. The fully funded assistantships will pay a competitive stipend of $32,000 ~ $34,000 annually and cover full tuition. The potential start date is August 2025. The students will work on brain neuronal modeling, deep learning, control theory, finite element modeling, warfighter performance evaluation, and neuroprosthetic (and implant) designs.

Position requirements:

A recent (or currently enrolled) master’s degree in biomedical/ Electrical/ Industrial/ Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar degrees
Preferred qualifications:
-
Hands-on experience in human subject testing

Students with OpenSim and EEG/EMG signal processing experiences

Experience in control theoretical methods (PID algorithm design)

Experience with machine/deep learning network designs will be given the top priority.
